Book a free 15-minute call

Consult calls are simple and conversational. I'll introduce myself and explain how it works. It's a 10 to 15 minute call for us to get a feel for each other and see if we're a good fit.

What we'll talk about

I'll ask what's bringing you to therapy, what made you reach out now, and whether you've been in therapy before — what you liked about it and what you didn't.

I'll ask what you're hoping to get out of therapy, and what would need to happen for it to feel like it's working.

From there I'll follow what you're sharing. And I'll always ask if you have questions for me.

How I work

If we move forward, the first three to five sessions are usually more about gathering information and getting to know each other than anything else.

My approach is psychodynamic, which means I'm interested in childhood and upbringing, relationships, and the patterns that repeat.

If I'm not the right fit

If something you bring is outside my scope, or needs a higher level or a different kind of care, I'll tell you honestly rather than take you on. That includes high-acuity diagnoses, eating disorders, and EMDR, which I'm not trained in.

There's no pressure and no obligation. The point of the call is to find out.

Consultation times are usually available within the week.

A sentence or two is plenty. No need to go into detail here — we can talk it through on the call.

This practice is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day, or call 911. You deserve support that can reach you right now.
